Bible Study and Devotional Guide
The California-Nevada Conference theme, Passion in Jesus Christ—Compassion for All, has been developed into a Bible study.
The study includes a forward written by the former Episcopal leader of the California-Nevada Annual Conference, Bishop Beverly J. Shamana (now retired), six sessions— each covering a six-day Bible study—and leader’s guide developed by Shasta District Superintendent Ben Silva-Netto. Download the complete book here.
This vision challenges us to move toward a future where every Faith Community is, in fact, a Spiritual Transformation Center.
This vision challenges us to service through outreach ministries—face to face, hand to hand—with the poor, the least, the outcast, and the hungry.
This vision challenges us to move toward a future where every congregation names and celebrates our identity and bears fruits of respect, love, and mutual ministry.
This vision challenges us to be known in our communities. It demands that we find ways to be contagious congregations—visible in, and interacting with, our communities.
Clergy from around the Conference helped design the study, which was developed by the Conference Board of Discipleship along with Conference Council on Ministries Director Linda Wiberg and a writers’ task force. Writers of the study included the Revs. Kah-Jin Jeffrey Kuan, Donna Van Maanen, Cathy Warner, Lin Goodyear, Cynthia Statement, Alice Ann Glenn, and Jennifer Crawford.
